Ooni lauds NSCDC as pillar of national security, hails Audi’s leadership

The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has praised the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for its growing influence and transformation into a dependable pillar of national security.

The monarch gave the commendation while receiving the Commandant General of the Corps, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and his entourage at his palace in Ile-Ife during the NSCDC’s operational tour of Osun State.

 

Oba Ogunwusi applauded the Corps’ professionalism, discipline, and tactical efficiency under Professor Audi’s leadership, noting that the NSCDC has evolved into a trusted institution that listens, responds, and protects communities with purpose.

 

“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is now a symbol of hope to our communities a Corps that listens, responds, and protects with purpose,” the Ooni declared.

 

He described the NSCDC as a frontline agency vital to safeguarding critical national assets, resolving conflicts, and ensuring the safety and peace of citizens across Nigeria.

 

In his response, Professor Audi expressed gratitude for the royal recognition and reaffirmed the Corps’ resolve to fulfill its constitutional duties with dedication and patriotism.

 

He emphasized the importance of collaboration with traditional rulers, stating that intelligence from grassroots communities remains essential for effective national security.

 

“Our partnership with royal fathers like the Ooni is crucial to building safer communities. We will continue to enhance our operational capacity and sustain peace across the region,” Audi said.

 

The NSCDC’s ongoing operational tour, he added, aimed to strengthen the Corps’ presence across the country, boost inter-agency collaboration, and reinforce public trust in its mission to protect lives and property.
