President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has mourned the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, former Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term and ex-National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio described the late Second Republic Minister of Communications as a distinguished elder statesman who lived a life of service, integrity, and patriotism.
“It is with great sadness that I received the news of the passing of Chief Audu Ogbeh, a distinguished elder statesman and a dedicated public servant. Chief Ogbeh lived a life of service, integrity, and commitment to the development of our nation,” Akpabio stated.
He noted that Ogbeh, who served as minister under different administrations, made significant contributions to agriculture, rural development, and nation-building, and would be remembered for his intellectual depth and dedication to public service.
On behalf of his family, constituents, and the 10th Senate, Akpabio extended condolences to the family of the deceased, his friends, political associates, the government and people of Benue State, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He prayed for God to grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the loss and for the soul of the late elder statesman to find eternal rest.
