“He who doesn’t have standard falls for anything”. According to Abdurasaq Olayode aka philosopher king, he defined personal standard during his weekly program”TALK ISLAM” on Jordan 93.9 FM as ” setting a set of rules, behaviour and belief for ones everyday life”. In other words, they lay down the benchmarks of performance for one’s life.
If you want to change your life, you have to raise your standards. The quality of your life is the reflection of your standard, he said.

Thus, there are areas of life where everyone needs to set a standard for,this areas are;

*1. HEALTH:-* health they say is wealth. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are two blessings which many people waste: health and free time.” a believer should make the best use of his spare time and health by performing good deeds; otherwise they will lose these two great opportunities. Know what you eat and drink.

*2. WEALTH:-* learn to manage your finance. Be prudent in spending, negotiate and invest. Always save. Also work and add more experience to your existing experience. Develop strong work ethic and your work standard.

*3. RELATIONSHIP:-* “refuse to lower your standard to accommodate those who refuse to raise theirs”. Watch out for enery vampires and change your circle of relationship that slows you down. Allah says: “O ye who believe! enter into Islam whole-heartedly; and follow not the footsteps of the evil one; for He is to you an avowed enemy.” (Al-Baqarah,2:208).

4. *SELF DISCIPLINE:-* Say no to distractions, have a daily routines and stop reacting to temptations.

5. *MINDSET* :- Your thoughts determines your action. Disruptive thought pattern leads to depression, worry and anxiety. Your internal self talk is the way to speak with your subconscious. See obstacles as an opportunity to learn and grow.
High standard leads to personal growth. Identify where your standards are lacking and commit to raise the bar.
