In a swift counteroffensive, troops of Operation Fasan Yamma repelled a large-scale bandit attack on Mada town, Zamfara State, neutralized several assailants and forced others to flee with gunshot wounds.
The Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the government-backed Askarawa militia, launched a coordinated defense, overpowered the attackers with superior firepower and tactical maneuvers.
Despite the bandits’ numerical advantage, security forces successfully protected civilians and restored order. Multiple weapons and motorcycles were recovered, significantly weakening the attackers’ operational capacity.
Authorities confirmed that additional troops have been deployed to prevent any retaliatory strikes, marking a significant victory in the ongoing battle against banditry in Zamfara state.
