In a decisive military operation, troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West Operation Fansan Yamma, dismantled multiple terrorist hideouts in Fakai, Shinkafi Local Government Area, on January 10, 2025. The operation, which involved ground troops and air support, targeted notorious camps led by Bello Turji and Mallam Ila.

During the offensive, over 25 terrorists were neutralized, while more than 18 others were injured. The operation also resulted in the rescue of seven kidnapped victims, who managed to escape amid the chaos.

The success of this mission dealt a significant blow to the terrorist network in the region. Operation Fansan Yamma has reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating all terrorist elements within its jurisdiction and restoring peace and security to affected communities.

Lt. Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for Operation Fansan Yamma, emphasized the operation’s ongoing efforts and warned terrorist leaders to surrender and renounce violence unconditionally.
