The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates’ Association (UNIFEMGA) has announced its 2026 Annual Honours Awards, aimed at celebrating excellence in leadership, service, and commitment to the growth of the association and society.
According to the National Secretary, Mr. Sefiu Ikudaisi, the prestigious event will hold on February 7, 2026, at Bovina View Hotels Limited, New Yidi Road, Ilorin, Kwara State.
A total of 28 members will be honoured in three categories: six Presidential Awards, six Excellence Awards, and 16 Achievement Awards.
The theme of the ceremony is “Rebuilding National and International Confidence through Leadership and Followership Reforms.”
Renowned Islamic scholar, Fadhilatul Ustadh Mukhtar Lukman Isale Koto, will deliver the keynote address, while Professor Abdulganiyu F. Alabi will serve as the Chairman of the occasion.
Speaking ahead of the event, the National President of UNIFEMGA, Engr. Mohammed Buari, expressed satisfaction over the opportunity to recognise distinguished members who have excelled in their various fields and contributed significantly to the association’s growth and development.
He noted that the Presidential Awards are meant to recognise outstanding contributions to Islam, society, and UNIFEMGA, while the Excellence Awards will honour individuals who have attained professorial cadre or rendered exceptional service. The Achievement Awards will celebrate members who have earned doctorate degrees or demonstrated remarkable achievements in their professions.
The association stated that the annual honours ceremony remained part of its commitment to promoting leadership, integrity, and service among its members.
