When a man’s manhood is threatened By Funke Egbemode ([email protected])

Whether he is giving sperm or money, a man’s manhood feels rock solid only when he is the giver. All normal men are divinely wired to give. I hope you noticed the emphasis on normal men because not all men are normal. Forget the six-pack abdomen and rippling biceps, many of today’s men don’t mind being humped and getting paid for it.The Yoruba call them ,alabodo’. Kept men. Gigolos. Men for hire. Toy boys. They are all over the place, dangling their sugar sticks, hoping to net the highest bidder.…

The former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Olabode George has hinted he is ready to work with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, with whom they have both had a prolonged frosty relationship. George said this after some elders of Lagos State and some All Progressives Congress leaders visited him to end the age-long grudge between him and Tinubu. Heed Akeredolu, Stakeholders’ on Speakership, Group tells APC

A youth group in the All Progressives Congress, APC, APC Youth Alliance For Progress, APC-YAP, has called on the party and the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to heed the progressive and patriotic advice of some leaders of the party to jettison the present zoning arrangement.   The APC-YAP in a statement on Sunday in Abuja stressed that ignoring the well-meaning advice of prominent stakeholders like the Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, was recipe for a fractured National Assembly, especially the House of Reps.   Governor Akeredolu had…

Change must begin with the leader, by Hassan Gimba

This writing was first published on 6 July 2020. With changes of leadership soon at the federal and state levels, I see it as relevant. The first part in particular. However, do we forget the lessons in the second part?   The world is changed by your example not by your opinion – Paulo Coelho, Brazilian Lyricist and author of The Alchemist.   Allah (SWT) said in the Qur’an that He does not change the condition of a people until they change what is in their hearts. It is a…

Will north, the Shrew, bite the APC’s nose? By Festus Adedayo

The ongoing fight-to-finish for principal officers’ positions in the 10th National Assembly by the All Progressives Congress (APC) has only one fitting corollary: It is the famous mythic, destructive squabble between the Shrew, Squirrel and a seemingly impartial arbiter, the Tortoise. Unless carefully resolved, what appears to be a fancy of conquest by the APC, leading to the party magisterially pronouncing who would be its legislative Man Fridays, seems to have boomeranged full throttle at its teething stage. Only last week, the party’s National Working Committee, (NWC) in a peremptory,…

Diversity, Zoning and the Complications By Simon Kolawole

Is Nigerian politics getting better? Are Nigerian politicians getting more mature and politically savvy as we move from one phase to the other in democratisation and nation-building? From my balcony, I have been observing quietly the mini-crisis that has broken out in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the sharing of positions in the 10th National Assembly. With the offices of president and vice-president already settled via the ballot in the general election, we are left with the parliamentary leadership positions which are not usually as simple as the presidency…

What can deliver Nigerian leaders from UK hospitals? – Martins Oloja

Who will set some Nigerian leaders free from their liking for U.K. Medical Doctors? Who will be paying for the outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari’s medical treatments in U.K after May 29, 2023? Will Buhari curb Buhari’s obsession with the U.K universities (for his children) and healthcare system for more than 40 years? When shall we begin to get answers to our questions on what really ails our leaders who continue to travel abroad for even dental and ear problems?     When should we the people insist on getting answers…
