Ex Kogi Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris has described the Maigari of Lokoja, Alhaji (Dr) Mohammed Kabir Maikarfi III OON as a detrabalised custodian of the most prestigious traditional institution in Kogi state.
The former Kogi Governor bare his mind in a message of congratulation to the paramount ruler of Lokoja kingdom, saying his over three decades reign had not only brought about peace, unity and stability among ethnic nationalities in the state, but seamless human and infrastructural development.
He recalled when the Maigari of Lokoja ascended the throne of his ancestors three decades away, precisely in 1992, stating his wealth of experience garnered from the civil service had assisted him greatly in not only expanding the highly revered and enriched chiefdom, but instill dynamic modernity on the throne.
“As the immediate traditional institution that played host to all successive administration in Kogi state, which included the military era, the paramount ruler had contributed greatly to the development of all areas of the state.” He said.
“I worked closely with the Maigari of Lokoja both as a Governor and now a former Govenor of Kogi state, his human instinct, tolerance and acceptability was beyond human imagination throughout my experiences.”
“His advises while I was in government contributed in no small measure both to the development and resolution of many issues that boarders on peace, progress and developement of the state.”Idris said.
Alhaji Ibrahim Idris prayed for a longer reign for the Maigari of Lokoja, stating that he had stabilised the traditional rulers roles in Kogi state as chief host at the seat of government.
“Let me also congratulate the people of Lokoja and it’s extended domain on the 30th anniversary of the Maigari of Lokoja, while asking for the continuous supports to the traditional ruler.”Alhaji Idris added.
