The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has commended the Federal Government and security agencies for the successful rescue of pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, Yilwatda described the rescue as a clear demonstration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians.

He congratulated the victims, their families and all Nigerians, noting that the operation ended days of anxiety and uncertainty.

The APC chairman attributed the successful outcome to the coordinated efforts of the Nigerian military, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local intelligence networks and other security agencies working closely with the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government.

Yilwatda praised the professionalism, gallantry and resilience displayed by the security agencies, saying the operation underscored the importance of intelligence sharing, inter-agency collaboration and sustained cooperation in addressing the country’s security challenges.

He also commended the Oyo State Government for its partnership with the Federal Government throughout the rescue mission, stressing that security remains a shared responsibility that should rise above political considerations.

Expressing sympathy to the rescued pupils, teachers and their families, Yilwatda acknowledged the emotional and psychological trauma they experienced during captivity and prayed for their complete healing and recovery.

The APC National Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the APC-led Federal Government to strengthening the nation’s security architecture through improved intelligence gathering, deployment of modern technology and continued support for security agencies.

According to him, President Tinubu remains determined to eliminate criminality and ensure that Nigerians can live, work and pursue their daily activities without fear.

He also urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely intelligence, stressing that collective vigilance is essential to defeating kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes.
