RULE OF LAW, PANACEA TO PEACE, DEVELOPMENT- GOV SANI-BELLO

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has hinged the attainment of peace and development of the country on strict adherence to the rule of law by the government and the governed.

 

The Governor said this in his office in Minna, the state capital when he received members of Abidoka Dole, a non-governmental organization determined to support government in maintaining peace, law and order in the state.

 

He emphasized that “what makes other countries better than us is that they hold firmly to the laws of their land, adding that “if we do the same it will create an enabling environment for peaceful coexistence, growth and development in the state and the country at large “.

 

He commended the organization for its efforts at tackling some communial differences and challenges,

 

Governor Sani-Bello assured that his administration will ensure protection, safety of lives and property in the state.

 

Alhaji Sani-Bello further called on youth in the state to desist from vices and activities that tend to breach the peace and development of the state and encouraged them to engage in legitimate businesses and skills acquisition in order to be self sustaining, create wealth and by extension help to develop the state.

 

Earlier, the leader of the organization, Malam Ahmed Muhammad said they have since the inception kept faith with its core mandate of ensuring peace through series of conflict resolution in different parts of the state.

 

He cited various communities in the state that the group had intervened in resolving clashes that would have snowball into crisis of imaginable magnitude .

 

Muhammad then called on the state government to support the organization in her efforts at curbing restiveness and other youth related vices.
