Akpabio Congratulates Tinubu on 3rd Year in Office, Hails Reforms , Economic Agenda

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the occasion of his third year in office, commended what he described as bold reforms and strategic leadership under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement personally signed by him and released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hon. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio lauded the President for what he called three years of “focused governance” that have produced landmark policies and projects aimed at repositioning Nigeria for growth and development.

He noted that key areas of the administration’s focus including economic diversification, infrastructure renewal, security, and social welfare have laid a foundation for long-term national prosperity.

The Senate President highlighted several flagship initiatives of the administration, including the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, which he said is expected to boost coastal trade and connectivity; the Nigerian Student Loan Scheme, aimed at expanding access to tertiary education; and the Renewed Hope Housing Programme, designed to deliver affordable homes across the country.

He also referenced the nationwide rollout of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses and conversion centres as part of efforts to reduce transport costs, alongside ongoing tax reforms intended to broaden the tax base while easing pressure on low-income earners.

Akpabio further pointed to the completion of the OB3 gas pipeline project, which is expected to deliver significant volumes of gas into the national transmission network, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.

According to him, bold policy decisions such as the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of exchange rates demonstrate the President’s commitment to long-term economic stability despite short-term challenges.

“The 10th Senate remains a committed partner in enacting laws that will sustain these gains and secure the future we all desire,” he said.

He added that the administration’s decisions, though difficult, are already yielding measurable benefits for Nigerians.

Akpabio also prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the President as he continues to steer the country’s transformation agenda.

“Mr President, on behalf of my family, constituents, the Senate and the entire 10th National Assembly, I wish you a successful completion of your tenure and resounding victory in the forthcoming elections,” the statement added.
