President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received unanimous endorsement as the sole presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general elections. The endorsement, made by the 22 APC governors and leadership of the National Assembly, reflected a strong and united front within the ruling party.
The declaration was made during the APC National Summit held on Thursday at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja. The Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) formally reaffirmed their support for President Tinubu, pledging loyalty and commitment to his re-election bid.
The high-level event was attended by key figures in the APC hierarchy, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and the APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje. Delegates and stakeholders from all 36 states of the federation were also in attendance, further reinforcing the party’s united stance.
Senator Hope Uzodimma, Chairman of the PGF and Governor of Imo State, moved the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement, which was seconded by Senator Uba Sani, Governor of Kaduna State. The motion was adopted through a unanimous voice vote, receiving a standing ovation from attendees.
The development signaled a major step in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 elections, showcasing internal cohesion and strategic alignment behind the incumbent president.
