APC Women honours Gov Sule for inclusiveness, professionalism

All Progressives Congress (APC) women in Nigeria have presented an award to Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for his women inclusiveness policy, as well as for bringing professionalism to bear in governance.
The APC Women in Nigeria, presented the award at a ceremony that held at the Nasarawa Governor’s Lodge, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
Predicting the award to Engineer Sule, National Woman Leader of the APC, Hon. Stella Okotete, said they singled out the governor for the award because of his women inclusiveness policy, which saw to the appointment of a 29-year old female as a commissioner.
The women in APC equally recognised the governor, for bringing professionalism to bear in the governance of the state.
Hon Okotete, who was supported by the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, to present the award to Engineer Sule, said it was in recognition of his hard work and the platform he provides for women to play critical roles in governance and leadership.
She recalled that during the recent APC women national conference, it was resolved that women should seek for more inclusiveness in both leadership and governance, with the APC women agitating for more women in both elective and leadership positions in the country.
“It was resolved that, we will push to see more women at the states and national assemblies, as well as at executive councils at both state and federal levels,” she stated.
The APC national woman leader explained that, they singled out Engineer Sule for the He-for-She award because he is providing women with the platform to actively participate in leadership and governance.
“We had to give the He-for-She award to the Nasarawa State governor being a very gender friendly government and an administrator par excellence who is giving women a platform for visibility,” she said.
She added that, with the award, APC women will be able to convince their stakeholders and leaders of the progressives to give more women opportunities to serve and exhibit their potentials.
Hon Okotete expressed hope that other governors will emulate the Nasarawa State governor, by giving more women opportunities to showcase their potentials.
She therefore used the opportunity of the event, to appeal to the governor to provide more visibility for women ahead of the 2023 general election.
Responding, Engineer Sule thanked the APC women for identifying him for the award, stressing that women have continued to play key roles in his life.
He particular appreciated the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, for the role she continued to play towards alleviating the plight of the vulnerable members of the society across the country
Engineer Sule equally appreciated Federal Commissioner at the Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, for making the nation proud while discharging her responsibilities
