The Nigerian Senate has confirmed the appointment of 34 career and 30 non-career ambassadors, during plenary on Thursday. The confirmation followed the presentation and adoption of a committee report chaired by Senator Sani Bello.
During the session, Senator Sahabi Yau raised a concern over the absence of nominees from Zamfara State, urging that the President be notified. Senate President assured lawmakers that the list was not exhaustive and that additional ambassadorial nominations would be submitted, ensuring Zamfara State’s representation.
Among the career ambassadors confirmed are:

Ramat Omonbolale (Lagos State)
Monica Okechukwu Enebechi (Anambra State)
Adams Jane Basset (Cross River State)
Mohammed Lele (Bauchi State)
Muhammad Dahiru (Kaduna State)
The non-career ambassadors included:
Ajimobi Florence (Oyo State)
Sulola Akande (Oyo State)
Uguwanyi Ifeanyi (Enugu State)
Ita Enang (Akwa Ibom State)
Femi Fani-Kayode (Osun State)
Jerry Manwe (Taraba State)
Reno Omokri (Delta State)
Ibas Ibok-Ette (Cross River State)
Abdulrahman Dambazzau (Kano State)
Abas Braimah (Edo State)
Earlier, the Senate confirmed three other non-career ambassadors, bringing the total number of confirmed nominees to 67.
The Senate President emphasized that additional nominations would soon follow to ensure full federal representation.
