Over 70 per cent of candidates scored below 200 as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, released the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results.     The Registrar of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede announced the release of the results at a press conference held at the board’s headquarters, Bwari, in Abuja on Monday.   Over 1.94 million candidates registered and sat the examination in 118 towns and over 700 centres across the country.     The examination which began on Friday, 19th April ended on Monday, 29th April…

University of Abuja issued over 80,000 Certificates since 2019 – Registrar

By ABUBAKAR YUSUF     The Registrar, University of Abuja, Yahaya Mohamed said the Institution has issued 87,000 backlog of certificates of various programs since the inception of the present administration of Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah in 2019. The backlog of certificates abandoned since 2006 contained 45,000 for graduates and 42,000 for the diploma students of the Institution. Cross River Govt off sets N440m WAEC fees for 16,301 indigenes

The Cross River State Executive Council has approved the payment of WAEC fees for 16,301 indigenes of public schools in the state. Confusion as Teacher flogs student to death in Lagos

Confusion broke out at Araromi Ilogbo Secondary School in Oko Afo, Lagos State, as students of the school staged a protest over the death of one of their classmates, who was reportedly flogged to death by a teacher.   The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday when the deceased, identified as master David Babadipo, was allegedly flogged by the teacher, Mr Oluwale.   Following the incident, the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.   In a viral video, many pupils of the school…
