The Comptroller General of Customs (CGC), Adewale Adeniyi, on Monday, 27 January 2025, honored Trade Modernisation Project (TMP) Limited for its pivotal contributions to enhancing the technological capabilities of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS). The recognition, presented during the International Customs Day celebration at the Customs House, Maitama District, Abuja, underscored TMP’s role in modernizing customs operations, particularly through ICT-driven innovations such as the newly developed B’odogwu application.
In his speech, CGC Adeniyi emphasized that TMP’s partnership was instrumental in driving efficiency within NCS processes, noted that such collaborations had significantly improved trade facilitation, risk management, and revenue collection. “Partnerships like the one with TMP are crucial in transforming Customs operations,” he remarked.
Dr. Jummai Umar-Ajijola, Managing Director of TMP, received the award on behalf of her team, expressing her gratitude for the recognition. She highlighted TMP’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions aimed at reducing clearance delays and improving revenue collection, while pledging continued efforts toward advancing digital transformation in trade.
The event also celebrated exemplary customs officers for their achievements in revenue generation, technology, and innovation. General Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, addressed the gathering, commended the NCS for its role in securing Nigeria’s borders and facilitating smooth trade operations.
“Your adoption of technology and commitment to national security are commendable,” he said, reaffirmed the Armed Forces’ support for the NCS’s efforts.
