COAS reiterates commitment to end insecurity ….. As Gov Sani Bello urges citizens to support Nigerian Military

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt
Gen. Faruk Yahaya has reiterated the commitment of the Nigerian Army towards improving the security situation in the country.
Lt. Gen.Yahaya made this known when he paid courtesy visit on Governor Abubakar Sani Bello at the Government House Minna, the state capital.
He said,the Nigeria Army was already training some of its troops to beef up security and to improve its manpower.
The COAS explained that he was in the State for a conference,and as part of his operational visit to military formations across the country as well as find a way forward towards winning the fight against insurgency and banditry in the country.
He commended Governor Sani Bello for his support and contributions towards ensuring success in the operations of his personnel in the state.
In his remarks, Governor Abubakar Sani Bello maintained that there was no better time to secure the Country than now.
Governor Sani Bello while reflecting on the peaceful society Nigerians enjoyed in the past said same can not be assured of in the country now,considering the raising cases of insecurity.
The Governor disclosed that he had a closed door meeting with the Security Chief where they discussed crucial issues as regards securing the state and Nigeria in general.
Governor Sani Bello expressed optimism that the COAS is capable of providing the needed leadership and support towards achieving the desired peace in the State and Country even as he acknowledged that the Security Chief assumed office at a critical and challenging time for the country.
He then called on Nigerlites in particular and Nigerians in general to continue to be patient and supportive to the Nigeria Military by providing useful information that would help in addressing insecurity in the country.
The Governor commended the 22nd COAS for his efforts towards restoring peace in the country and assured him of the state government’s continued support to security agencies to keep their morale boosted.
“This is the only country we have, we have to work together to safeguard it.
“While we pray for peaceful environment, we must also see all the security agents as our friends and partners in this fight, this will not continue forever, it will come to an end one day and we will have a better country for future generations “, he said.
