Dabiri-Erewa describes Young Nigerian Inventors as great patriots

Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission(NiDCOM) ,Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has described the duo of Nigerian-origin inventors, Messrs Stephen Osawaru and Anthony Osawere, as great patriots and good ambassadors of Nigeria.

She gave the commendation in a statement by NiDCOM’s Head of Media and Public Relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun in Abuja.

The duo were among the 14 recipients, recognised by President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi of Egypt during the 2019 World Youth Forum held in Egypt for inventing a medical mobile app, 24/7 Medic, for Nigerians especially in rural areas.

The NIDCOM boss stated that their contributions in improving the
health-care system, by developing a medical mobile app, “24/7 Medic”,
showed the patriotic and humanitarian side of the Nigerian inventors.

Dabiri-Erewa affirmed that their invention will, no doubt, create an
efficient prompt response from health professionals and curb mortality
rates to the barest minimum.

The NiDCOM boss remarked that the award proved that Nigerians are good,
committed, industrious and creative in whatever capacity they find
themselves.

“Again, your fabulous feat points to the fact that Nigerians are ‘a
generally caring, hardworking, innovative and intelligent’ set of
individuals.

You have done the country proud, and we are extremely proud of you. We
pray for more accolades as you relentlessly move to change the face of
the Nigerian Healthcare System to enviable heights.

Once more, Congratulations and Well done!” she said.

Dabiri-Erewa, however, appealed to investors and other stakeholders to
encourage the young men by partnering with them to do App in a
commercial quantity.
