Deputy Speaker Kalu felicitates Dangote on receipt of Senegalese highest national honours

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has rejoiced with the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote on the award of National Order of the Lion, being Senegal’s highest national honour recently conferred on him by President Macky Sall.

 

The National Order of the Lion was instituted by Law 60-36 of 22 October 1960 in Senegal.

 

It is awarded to certain individuals in recognition of their outstanding feats and contributions to Senegalese national development.

 

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu said that the conferment of the country’s highest national award on Dangote was a testament to his industrial spirit and entrepreneurial sagacity.

 

Describing Dangote as Africa’s foremost industrialist, Hon. Kalu lauded his commitment to job creation and employments beyond the shores of Nigeria.

 

Kalu noted that Dangote has through his largest industrial conglomerate in West Africa contributed immensely to the economic growth and development of many countries, stated that the award was deserving.

 

The Deputy Speaker who also recalled Dangote’s contributions during the unveiling of Peace In South East Project (PISE-P) in December, 2023, applauded the patriotic spirit of the businessman, urging him not to be weary in his philanthropic gestures.
