On Sunday, November 10, 2024, the Wuse District Headquarters of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Abuja became a beacon of spiritual rejuvenation.
The Sunday Service, pulsating with divine energy and uplifting worship, revolved around the pertinent theme of “Actualising God’s Commanded Blessings.”
Congregants gathered, enveloped in an atmosphere of expectation and faith, to hear from Rev. Babatunde Idowu, whose message underscored the transformative power of God’s blessings.
The heart of the sermon drew inspiration from 1 Kings 17: 1-16, where God’s provision through Elijah’s steadfast faith was a testament to divine blessings.
Rev. Babatunde Idowu eloquently introduced the topic, “The Dew of Heaven Fall Upon Us,” emphasizing the omnipresence and unfailing nature of God’s blessings. He stated that just as the dew sustains and nurtures quietly yet effectively, so do the commanded blessings of God operate in the lives of believers.
Rev. Idowu profoundly expounded on the concept of “commanded blessings,” which, he assured, are preordained by God to locate His faithful followers. To actualize these blessings, he advised the congregation to be obedient to God’s will and align their lives with His divine purpose. “God can do anything, everything, and do it in any way,” he proclaimed, assuring that believers who prioritize God’s word and seek His kingdom will experience His abundant providence.
Central to the sermon was the exhortation to give precedence to God’s word and seek His righteousness as outlined in Matthew 6:33, reverberating the promise that all other needs will be supplied.
Rev. Idowu encouraged the congregation to deepen their relationship with God, emphasizing that faith and obedience are critical to receiving the dew of heaven’s blessings.
Rev. Idowu drew parallels to biblical passages such as Genesis 27:26-29, 2 Samuel 17:12, and Hosea 14:4-7, aligning them with the concept of divine dew that revitalizes and fulfils God’s providence. The metaphor of dew was skilfully employed to illustrate the gentle and persistent nature of God’s grace.
Prayers and Affirmations:
The service culminated in a fervent session of prayers, led by Rev. Idowu. With deep convictions, he prayed, “In times of scarcity, no raven shall consume my blessings.” These prophetic prayers echoed deeply with the congregation, reaffirming their commitment to remain in their God-ordained locations, confident that divine blessings would manifest in their lives.
Rev. Idowu’s message was a reminder of the peace and assurance that infuse the lives of those who walk in obedience and faith.
The service left an indelible impression on attendees, inspiring them to anticipate and embrace the manifested blessings of God.
