The Editor of TheNewsGuru (TNG), Ediri Oyibo, is set to launch a new book titled “Journalism NeXt: A Comprehensive Guide to Modern Journalism” in an event expected to shape conversations around the future of media practice in Nigeria.
The book unveiling, scheduled for April 30, 2026, will take place at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Utako, Abuja, and is anticipated to draw key stakeholders from across the media, academia, and policy sectors.
Described as a product of extensive research and hands-on professional experience, the publication explores critical aspects of contemporary journalism, including digital transformation, ethical standards, media sustainability, and the evolving dynamics of news production in a fast-changing global environment.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Oyibo noted that the book addresses the growing need for innovation and adaptability within the profession. He explained that it is designed to bridge the gap between traditional journalism values and the demands of the digital age.
“This book is a response to the urgent need for innovation, credibility, and adaptability in journalism. It is designed to equip media practitioners with the tools required to navigate the complexities of today’s information ecosystem,” he said.
Beyond the unveiling, the event will also feature the presentation of research findings on the state of journalism in Nigeria, with particular focus on challenges confronting journalists in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Organisers say the gathering will provide a platform for robust dialogue and networking among participants.

The book launch is being coordinated by the Media and Publicity Team of the Ediri Oyibo Book Launch Committee.
