In honor of the Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman , the committee of friends and the family billed to organize a public lecture to mark the occasion to celebrate the renowned scholar, academic, public speaker, and outstanding administrator.
The event is expected to hold in Lokoja on Wednesday , 26th, October, 2022 at Idrinana Hotel along chari megu Meri barracks road in Lokoja, Kogi state at 10am.
The birthday occasion will witness a dual event of public lecture and presentation of two books written by the Rector of the State Polytechnic, Lokoja.
The topic of the public lecture for the day will be The federal government- ASUU Imbroglio: Interrogating the issues and the way forward.
Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is expected to be the special guest of honor, while His Royal Majesty, The Ata Igala and Chairman, Kogi state council of traditional rulers, (Dr) Mathew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa 11 will be the Royal father of the day.
The occasion will be chaired by the Vice- Chancellor, Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara, Professor (Engr) Salawu Sadiku.
The guest speaker will be Professor M.S. Audu, Deputy Vice- Chancellor , (Academic), Federal University, Lokoja, while the book reviewers 1&2 will be Professor S.M. Omodia, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Edo State University, Uzaire , Edo State and Professor Shola Omotola, Deputy Vice -Chancellor , (Administration), Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State.
Dr Ogbo who was appointed as Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja in 2020, has transformed the institution in the area physical, academic, infrastructural and policy thrust that turned the State Polytechnic, Lokoja to a centre of excellence.
A Political scientist and analyst, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman was recently promoted to the rank of Associate Professor by the governing council of Kogi State University, Anyigba.
