The newly inaugurated Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Desmond Amadi Enabulele, has assured Edo sports enthusiasts of the Commission’s commitment to revitalizing sports in the state.
Speaking during an inspection tour of facilities at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, Enabulele stated that the new board would work tirelessly to provide a conducive environment for athletes and coaches to excel. He reiterated that the welfare of sports stakeholders would remain a top priority.
“Our aim is to move sports forward in Edo State. This new board is composed of experienced professionals committed to ensuring Edo regains its premier position in Nigerian sports. We will harness the abundant talents of Edo athletes by creating an environment that fosters growth,” Enabulele said.
Board member, Baldwin Bazuaye expressed concern over the poor state of some facilities and assured that attention would be extended to all sporting associations. He emphasized the board’s resolve not to prioritize football alone.

He also commended the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his support and called for intensified efforts from athletes and coaches to complement the board’s vision.
Other members of the Commission, including Hon. Frank Ilaboya and Barrister Anthony Odianose Ikuenobe, joined the inspection, further affirmed the board’s united front in transforming the state’s sporting landscape.
