Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas, a former Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture for 2015/2016 and founder of the Queen Christmas Foundation, has been declared wanted by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The NDLEA personnel raided Ms. Queen Christmas’s residence at Oral Estate in Lekki on Wednesday, January 24, following credible intelligence suggesting her involvement in illicit substance dealings.
Shockingly, the ex-beauty queen reportedly fled her Lagos home upon the arrival of NDLEA officials.
NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that during the search of her home, various items were recovered, including 606 grams of Canadian Loud (a synthetic strain of cannabis), an electronic weighing scale, large quantities of drug packaging plastics, a black RAV 4 SUV marked Lagos KSF 872 GQ, and her picture frame, among other items.
The statement from the NDLEA reads, “The suspect was Miss Commonwealth Nigeria Culture 2015/2016 and founder of Queen Christmas Foundation.”
Furthermore, the NDLEA conducted successful operations leading to the arrest of members of an international drug trafficking syndicate.
Sunday Michael Owoborode, 52, and Valentine Anene were apprehended in Ogun State, with Valentine allegedly preparing to travel with drugs to Qatar.
Additionally, Sunday Adediran, 50, was arrested in Lagos with 20kg of cannabis sativa found in his house in Mushin Olosha.
Meanwhile, in Kano, Shamwilu Idris, 29, was arrested with 271kg of cannabis, and Abubakar Haruna Salisu, 24, was nabbed with 600 bottles of codeine-based syrup.
The NDLEA continued its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign across various states, making several arrests and seizures.
The agency intercepted a DAF truck belonging to Musa Galadima, recovering 87 compressed blocks of cannabis sativa weighing 73kg, along with thousands of tramadol and diazepam tablets.
In Plateau State, Aminu Ubanta, 35, was apprehended with 5.355kg of cannabis.
The NDLEA’s relentless efforts in curbing drug trafficking underscore the commitment to safeguarding communities from the harmful effects of illicit substances.
The search for Ms. Aderinoye Queen Christmas continues as the agency intensifies its operations against drug-related crimes.
