The immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Monday felicitated with former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, on the occasion of his 73rd birthday.
Hon Dogara showered encomiums on the former vice president, describing him as a democrat, patriot and elder statesman.
Dogara described Alh.Abubakar as an icon of democracy and one of those who struggled to enthrone democratic governance in Nigeria.
Dogara said: “we celebrate him as one of the greatest political leaders in Nigeria and a role model.
“We commend your unwavering commitment to deepening of our democracy, well-being of the Nigerian people through your philanthropic activities, especially in helping create thousands of jobs.
“As you clock 73 years, we wish
you God’s guidance, protection and sound health to continue with your invaluable service to the nation and humanity in years to come.
“Once again, happy birthday and many happy returns Wazirin Adamawa.”
