FCT Police, Army Garrison Strengthen Security Synergy

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command and the Army Headquarters Garrison have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening inter-agency cooperation to enhance security and protect residents of the nation’s capital.

 

The commitment was renewed on Thursday, August 13, 2026, when the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, received the Commander, Army Headquarters Garrison, Major General JR Lar, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to the FCT Police Command Headquarters in Abuja.

 

The visit, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh,was aimed at further consolidating the existing relationship between the two security formations and enhancing cooperation in the discharge of their responsibilities.

 

During the visit, Major General Lar acknowledged the existing synergy between the FCT Police Command and the Army Headquarters Garrison, stressing the need for continued cooperation in intelligence sharing, joint operations and the promotion of camaraderie among personnel of both formations.

 

He called for sustained collaboration between the Police and the Army to strengthen security operations and ensure a safer Federal Capital Territory.

 

Responding, CP Sanusi assured the Army delegation of the Command’s full support and cooperation towards sustaining security across the FCT.

 

The Commissioner further reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to strengthening the existing partnership and fostering greater operational synergy between both formations in the discharge of their official responsibilities.

 

The meeting concluded with an exchange of goodwill and contact details, as well as a group photograph.
