The Director General of National Youth Service Corps, Brigadier General Muhammad Kaku Fadah has inaugurated the NYSC Fish Farm in Kwali, Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Speaking during the inauguration, General Fadah said his administration would harness every opportunity to increase the capacity of NYSC Ventures.
He disclosed that the Scheme would continue to use NYSC Ventures as training avenues for Corps Members that have passion for agriculture and also increase the income generation drive for NYSC.
The Director, Ventures Management Department, Prince Mohammed Momoh appreciated General Fadah for his support for the department.
He promised the readiness of the staff of the department towards the boosting of the overall output of all NYSC farms across the country and the overall development of the Scheme.
“This is the only farm that is located within the Federal Capital territory and we plan to introduce additional ventures to enhance our revenue generation”, he said.
The NYSC Kwali Farm in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja also have five hectares of rice plantation, poultry, cassava, maize, yam among other crops.
