Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary to drive the State’s development agenda.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Judges of the Edo State Judiciary, led by the Chief Judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa, Governor Okpebholo highlighted the importance of synergy among the three arms of government. He commended the Legislature for their support, particularly in the passage of the Appropriation Bill, and urged the Judiciary to join in this collaborative effort to ensure justice delivery and propel the State’s growth.
Governor Okpebholo stated, “We have challenges in Edo State, and the Executive alone cannot solve them. We need to synergize to develop and grow the State. The Legislature has been very cooperative, and I am confident that the Judiciary will follow suit.”
He expressed his commitment to enhancing the educational system and supporting the Judiciary to ensure their success in delivering justice. The Governor underscored the significance of inclusiveness in governance, urging all arms of government to work together for the collective progress of the State.
In response, Justice Daniel Okungbowa assured the Governor of the Judiciary’s dedication to justice delivery and their readiness to collaborate with the Executive and Legislature to ensure the State’s development and the well-being of its people.
The visit, which took place at Government House, Benin City, marks a significant step towards fostering a more integrated approach to governance in Edo State.
