In just one month in office, Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has been praised for setting unprecedented records in governance. Former Governor and Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, described Okpebholo’s performance as exceptional, noting that his proactive approach has already started transforming the state.
Speaking to journalists at his Iyamho residence in Etsako West Local Government Area on Thursday, Oshiomhole said:
“For the first time in Edo’s history, we have a Governor who began making critical appointments from day one in office. Justice, health, and basic education are priorities, and no sector has been left unattended”Oshiomhole said.
Oshiomhole commended the Governor for mobilizing contractors back to project sites and halting exploitative financial practices that plagued local government councils under the previous administration. He noted that Governor Okpebholo’s efforts are providing immediate relief to the people and laying the groundwork for sustainable development.
“Edo people can now see tangible progress. This administration is focused on action, not just rhetoric and MOUs. We finally have a Governor who leads with vision and decisiveness,” Oshiomhole stated.
Governor Okpebholo, in his remarks, assured Edo citizens of continued progress in 2025. He highlighted his administration’s commitment to boosting critical sectors and delivering impactful projects.
The Governor has already made headlines by appointing cabinet members, inaugurating boards, and launching major road construction projects—all within his first hours in office.
Edo State Chief Press Secretary Fred Itua in a statement on Thursday, reaffirmed that the new administration is committed to driving development and meeting the needs of Edo people.
