Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has called on security agencies in the country to come up with new strategies and approach to curbing security challenges in the country.
The Governor made the call in Minna, the state capital when he received the new Commander of the Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Major General Adeku Ademoh Salihu in his office.
Governor Sani-Bello who noted that security challenges and criminal activities in the country have taken new dimension, tasked the security agencies, especially the military to ensure that they device new strategies and approaches in fighting insecurity in the country.
He cited some security challenges being faced in the state adding that criminal minded people are always coming out with different ploys to wreck their criminal act, a development which he said would require a new approach of solving.
The governor advised the security agencies to up their game in intelligence gathering and inter-agency collaboration in order to find a lasting solution to the mirage of security challenges facing the country.
Governor Sani-Bello then assured the military of the state government’s support in order to ensure that they carry out their responsibility of ensuring the safety of lives and property in the state.
Earlier, the new TRADOC Commander, Major General A. A Salihu had commended Governor Sani-Bello for his intervention and support granted to his predecessor and has called for more cordial relationship between the state government and the military.
