GOV SANI-BELLO URGES NIGER YOUTH TO BE PEACE AMBASSADORS …As Bida Stakeholders Endorses Him for 2019

Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello has charged youth in the state to be good ambassadors and preachers of peace in all their endeavours.

He gave this charge in Minna, the state capital when he played host to delegates from Bida who came on a solidarity visit over the unruly behaviour of some misguided youth to the governor’s convoy last Thursday.

The Governor who reacted for the first time on the incident told his guests that he has moved on over the incident and appealed to the youths to be vanguard of peace stressing that progress can only be made in an environment that is devoid of crisis.

Stressing the need for youth to be good ambassadors, the governor said, “I want to appeal to everybody to be calm and be of good behaviour. Continue with your good works, continue to be good ambassadors of your local government, the state and Nigeria and continue to preach peace wherever you find yourselves.”

He commended the leadership virtues of youth of Bida chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) and the entire emirate for their concern about last Thursday ‘s incidence when some miscreants tried to obstruct his condolence visit to the victims of the fire outbreak at the Estu Musa market in Bida.

“I thank you for coming for this solidarity visit and this shows that we are on the same page with the real people of Bida.”

“We know that people from Bida and by extension, Nupe people are very respectful and it is not in their character to act violently. If you investigate, the people that carried out the act are not from Bida because Bida is not known for that. So what happened is not the position of Bida but I want to appeal to all of you to, accept it as God has destined it that way and now that it has happened, it is an eye opener for all of us.” He added.

He has however assured the people that his administration will not deter in discharging its responsibilities towards the people of Bida and Niger state as a whole.

Earlier, the APC Chairman, Bida Chapter, Alh. Salihu Ndagi and Alh. Musa Ladan who spoke on behalf of Bida youths and the people of the local government expressed displeasure over the incidence in Bida and assured the Governor of their support to his administration.

The delegation also endorsed Governor Sani-Bello for second term.
