In a strategic move to enhance security across the country, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the deployment of 38 Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various State Commands and Police Formations.
The deployment, aimed at strengthening intelligence-led policing and crime prevention, includes 9 CPs assigned to key state commands and 29 CPs posted to specialized police formations to reinforce law enforcement operations nationwide.
The newly posted CPs for state commands are:
CP Ibrahim Balarabe Maikaba – Zamfara State
CP Bretet Emmanuel Simon – Taraba State
CP Christopher Ado Emmanuel – Yobe State
CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosayin – Cross River State
CP Adamu Abdullahi Elleman – Niger State
CP Sani Omolori Aliyu – Bauchi State
CP Bello Shehu – Katsina State
CP Saka Adewale Ajao – Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
CP Ojo Adekimi – Kwara State
The 29 additional CPs deployed to various police formations will be tasked with implementing strategic crime control measures and intelligence-driven policing in line with the security priorities of the Nigeria Police Force.
The IGP, while addressing the newly deployed officers, emphasized the need for proactive security measures, urged them to focus on curbing insecurity, addressing emerging crime trends, and strengthening community-based policing initiatives.
He reiterated that the latest deployments underscored the police leadership’s commitment to ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria by placing competent and experienced officers in critical positions.
The Nigeria Police Force assured citizens that these strategic postings would improve response times to security threats and enhance collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public in maintaining peace and order.
