The Companion, association of Muslim men in business and the professions is hosting its 2024 Conference and 6th National Discourse in Abuja on August 10.
This is contained in a statement signed by Muideen Adeleke and Tajudeen Balogun, Chairman and Secretary, Media, Mobilisation and Publicity sub-committee, of National Organising Committee respectively.
The Discourse themed: “Between Patriotism And Self-Preservation” also has a lecture entitled: “Dilemma Of The Nigerian Youth: Challenges At Home, Uncertainties Abroad”.
The choice of the theme, according to the statement, is one of the means the organisation lends its voice on national issues of interest .
The Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas will chair the discourse.
The statement added that Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim, the Minister of Youth Development, will deliver the Keynote Speech while Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/ CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) is the Guest Speaker and immediate former Vice Chancellor, University of Abuja, Prof. Abdul-Rasheed Na’Allah will be a co- Speaker.
Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB Registrar, is the Special Guest of honour amidst other dignitaries.
The statement added that the Discourse will hold on Saturday, August 10, 2024, inside the auditorium of the National University Commission, Abuja, at 10:00 am.
The Discourse will have in attendance, The Companion members, from its existing six Districts, including: Abuja, Lagos, Oyo, Kwara, Osun and Cross River states.
It is also expected to attract businessmen, captains of industries, government functionaries, non-governmental organizations, academics and students within and from the diaspora.
According to the statement, the Discourse will be immediately followed by a non-elective Conference.
