The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Mr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his victory in the Ondo State gubernatorial election held on Saturday, 16th November, 2024.
In a press statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Prof. Muslih ‘Tayo Yahya, MUSWEN described Aiyedatiwa’s victory as divinely ordained, attributing it to the will of Almighty Allah who bestows power on whom He wills.
The organization, which serves as the umbrella body for the Councils for Islamic Affairs and Muslim Communities across the South West states,acknowledged the significant support from Muslim communities in Ondo State during the electioneering campaign.
“We are very much aware of the total support rendered to your aspiration by our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in Ondo State during the campaign. We are glad about this and we give praise to God Almighty,” the statement read.
MUSWEN urged Aiyedatiwa to prioritize equity in his administration by ensuring fairness and balance in appointments and governance between Christians and Muslims in the Sunshine State.
The organization also prayed for the Governor-elect’s success, calling on him to deliver impactful leadership and uphold the rights of all citizens.
“Once again, please accept our hearty congratulations. We pray that Almighty Allah shall guide you and grant you success in your governance,” Prof. Yahya concluded.
