The National Executive Council of the Research Institutes Games Association of Nigeria (RIGAN), has declared the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA ) as a Council Member of RIGAN with two representative members. The announcement was made at NEC/Post game meeting in Ibadan on Wednesday.
RIGAN is an association comprised of thirty-five Research and Development Institutes under the aegis of the Federal Ministries of Agriculture, Science and Technology, Health, Education and Environment, with the primary objectives of bringing together various Research and Development Institutes through sporting activities in all its ramifications as well to provide recreation, interaction and any other healthy competition as a way of promoting friendliness among members of the various Institutes, in addition to achieve sound mind and physical fitness required for attaining the goals set for Research and Development Institutes.
RIGAN recognized that “Healthy workplace is a productive force”and the importance of physical fitness of staff members can never be over emphasize.
While, accepting NASRDA as a council member following the earlier introduction, the council urged the representatives of NASDRA , Mr Olayode Abdurasaq and Abubakar Adamu to use their privileged positions to appeal and influence their Executive Director /DG to take the annual dues and games levies seriously.
“we cannot do otherwise and expect the association to remain viable” this was said as RIGAN President also congratulate the newly appointed Acting Director General, Dr.Francis D Chizea whose tenure he said had in no time started putting the agency in the limelight of achievement.
