The National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) has announced the passing of its National President, Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau. Hajiya Lau passed away in the late hours of June 4, 2024, after a brief illness at Kebbi State where she went for an official assignment.
A statement signed by Hajiya Binta Suleman Ibrahim, 2nd Vice President described Late Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau, as 3 dedicated leader and champion of women’s empowerment, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
“Her tireless efforts and contributions to the betterment of our society will never be forgotten.
“She left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire and motivate us all. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
“We mourn the loss of our dear leader and mother. We pray that God grants us and her family the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss.
“She will be laid to rest today in her hometown in Lau, Taraba State, in accordance with Islamic rites. Further arrangements and details will be communicated in due course.”the statement said.
Hajiya Lami Adamu Lau who was born on the 8th of August 1962, she was elected on the 31 of March 2022 as the 15th National President of the council and she assumed office on the 1 of April 2022 ,She was age 62 years.
