Delegates from 11 African countries are expected in Abuja for a high-level continental engagement on digital transformation, with Galaxy Backbone Limited set to host participants for a strategic tour of its digital infrastructure facilities.
The three-day engagement, themed “Building Africa’s Digital Foundations Together,” will hold from May 19 to 21, 2026 at the Abuja Continental Hotel.
The event is being organised in collaboration with Co-Develop, Smart Africa, and MicroSave Consulting, and is expected to convene policymakers, technology leaders, development partners, and digital transformation stakeholders from across the continent.
According to organisers, discussions during the summit will focus on Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), digital identity, secure connectivity, interoperability, and strategies for building inclusive digital ecosystems across Africa.
A major highlight of the programme will be a guided infrastructure tour of Galaxy Backbone’s facilities, designed to provide delegates with firsthand insight into Nigeria’s digital transformation journey and the critical infrastructure supporting secure government and private sector connectivity, cloud services, digital platforms, and public sector innovation.
The tour is also expected to showcase Galaxy Backbone’s expanding role in advancing digital governance and trusted digital infrastructure in Nigeria and across the continent.
Speaking ahead of the engagement, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone, Professor Ibrahim Adeyanju, described the event as an important platform for African countries to strengthen partnerships and exchange practical ideas for building resilient and inclusive digital ecosystems.
He said the summit would help deepen collaboration among African nations while supporting economic growth and improved public service delivery through sustainable digital infrastructure.
The event will also feature strategic discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions centred on innovation, collaboration, and the future of Africa’s digital economy.
