The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has congratulated the Nigerian Center for achieving recognition and accreditation by the United States Department of Justice under the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) Recognition and Accreditation Programme.
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, described the recognition as a testament to the Nigerian Center’s dedication, credibility, and unwavering commitment to supporting immigrant communities across the United States. She emphasized that the accreditation will allow the Center to expand its immigration legal services, providing guidance and representation to immigrants, particularly those from low-income and underserved backgrounds.
“This is a proud moment for Nigerian-led diaspora organizations. It underscores the positive contributions Nigerians continue to make in their host communities and reinforces the growing influence of diaspora institutions built on service and professionalism,” Dabiri-Erewa said.
She further noted that access to trusted, culturally responsive legal support is vital for immigrants navigating the often-complex U.S. immigration system. The Nigerian Center’s accreditation strengthens its ability to serve as a reliable resource for Nigerians and other African immigrants.
The NiDCOM boss commended the Head of the Nigerian Center, Mr. Gbenga Ogunjimi, and his team for their dedication, urging them to maintain the high standards that earned this recognition and to continue making a meaningful impact within the diaspora community.
