NiDCOM hails Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation for promoting inclusivity through Para Soccer

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has lauded the Dr. Krystal Chanchangi Foundation for its commitment to promoting inclusivity and empowering persons with disabilities through sports.

The commendation was made during a special para soccer event hosted by the Foundation at the Basketball Court, Old Parade Ground, Abuja, where the Chairman/CEO of NiDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, was represented by Mr. Gabriel Odu of the Media, Public Relations, and Protocols Unit.

In her goodwill message, Hon. Dabiri-Erewa praised the Foundation for its consistent efforts in supporting vulnerable communities, particularly through initiatives that highlight resilience, courage, and talent.

“This event is a shining example of what can be achieved when compassion meets commitment. Sports is a unifying force, and today’s para soccer match has demonstrated the true spirit of strength and determination,” she stated.

Speaking on behalf of the NiDCOM Boss, Mr. Odu also encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute to grassroots development back home.

“Our brothers and sisters abroad have an important role to play in shaping the Nigeria we all envision. Supporting inclusive, community-driven initiatives like this is a powerful way to contribute to national development,” he added.

Founder of the Foundation, Dr. Krystal Chanchangi, a Nigerian-American from Taraba State, expressed appreciation to all stakeholders and participants. She urged members of the Nigerian diaspora to play an active role in uplifting communities.

“We all have a part to play in our own little ways. It’s time for those of us abroad to come back, give back, and uplift our people. Change doesn’t start with policies it starts with people,” she said.

The para soccer event drew a vibrant crowd and featured music, dance, and awards recognizing outstanding athletes within the disability community.

The Foundation’s initiative marks yet another milestone in its mission to build a more inclusive society where every individual, regardless of physical ability, has the opportunity to thrive.
