Niger Govt reaffirms commitment to Ease of Doing Business ….. as Niger State Fertilizer Company set to commence full production

Niger State Government through the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Investment has reiterated its commitment to make the State an investment-friendly destination for businesses to thrive.

This was disclosed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Investment,Yahaya Babawachiko,when he met with a delegation from J. Marine Logistics Limited, the company in charge of Niger State Fertilizer Company Limited,Zungeru led by Hassan Aliyu at the Conference Hall of the Ministry.

Yahaya Babawachiko further explained that the present administration in Niger State led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello since its inception has provided enabling environment and incentives to investors that are willing to invest in the abundant human and natural resources.

 

The Permanent Secretary revealed that the State is endowed with multiple opportunities for would-be investors especially in the areas of tourism, agro-allied, energy, and solid minerals if properly harnessed will bring about the rapid development of the State.

 

According to Babawachiko, “the present administration has provided investment felicitation strategy where relevant government agencies are brought to one location, coordinated and streamline to provide prompt, efficient and transparent services to investors”.

He expressed optimism that the revenue base of the State can be better improved if investors are given all the necessary support to invest in the State, adding that concerted effort would be made to improve on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) to enable the Government to keep up with the challenges of development.

 

The Permanent Secretary told the delegation from J. Marine Logistics Limited that they are expected to articulate and marshal the State Fertilizer Company, Zungeru into real economic gains with value chains for great developmental strides.

 

He further expressed optimism that the meeting will afford a deeper and clearer understanding of the subject matter, as well as greater insight into the road map.

 

In his remarks, Mr. Hassan Aliyu of J. Marine Logistics Limited the company in charge of Niger State Fertilizer Company Limited, Zungeru assured the Permanent Secretary that the State Fertilizer Company will commence full production of assorted fertilizer by the second quarter of this year.

 

It is expected that when the Zungeru Fertilizer Company resumed production about 40,000 metric tons of fertilizer would be produced per annum.
