Niger State Government has reiterated its continued commitment and support to security agencies in the state.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello disclosed this when he received Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu, AIG in charge of Zone 7, Abuja at the Government House, Minna.
The Governor who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane further revealed that the state government will continue to provide the security agencies with all the necessary and needed intelligence, information, equipment and logistics support and assistance with a view to restoring normalcy to the state.
He added that the states of Niger, Kebbi, Sokoto, Zamfara, Kaduna, Katsina as well as Katsina are working out plans to have a coordinated and simultaneous operation so that the terrorists don’t have a safe haven, adding that the basic challenge of the state was its large landmass.
Governor Sani Bello reaffirmed that the state government will not relent in providing incentives to the families of slain security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
He commiserated with the police and other security agencies that have lost loved ones in the fight against insurgency and terrorism.
Earlier, AIG Mohammed Ndatsu Aliyu said he was on a familiarization tour to Niger State which form part of his constituency.
He appreciated the state government’s support and assistance which he said has gone a long way in combating terrorism and insurgency and urged the state government to do more.
The AIG thanked the state government and other security agencies for collaborating with the Police which he believe was yielding positive results in curtailing crime and other criminalities in the society.
