Niger Police gun down 3 suspected armed bandits, arrest A female suspect for culpable homicide

Sequel to kidnapping cases recorded in some parts of the Niger State coupled with COVID-19 pandemic facing the country and the need to nib crime in the bud, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Usman has given a marching order to the operatives of the Command to embark on aggressive manhunt of kidnappers in the State. This order led to some successes recorded as thus;
The Niger state Police Command on 25th April,2020 in a Joint Police/Vigilante team led by DPO Gawu Babangida, engaged a seven man gang of suspected kidnappers from Goyi village Gwagwalada FCT who invaded Tufa village via Gawu Babangida, Gurara LGA in a fierce gun battle, during which three of the hoodlums, namely; Abdulqadir Abubakar ‘m’ aged 20yrs, Nuhu Shuaibu ‘m’ 22yrs of Goyi village Gwagwalada FCT and Musa Maisaje ‘m’ 20yrs of Dobi Kaida FCT were arrested with gunshot wounds while one AK 47 rifle with erased breach number, one empty magazine, one pump action and Army camouflage uniform were recovered from them.

The suspects were taken to Umar Musa Yar,dua memorial hospital Sabon Wuse for medical attention but were later confirmed dead by the doctor as a result of the gunshots injuries sustained during the gun battle, the corpses were deposited at the hospital morgue. Effort to arrest the fleeing members of the syndicate still in progress, while the case under investigation.
In another development,the command on 23rd April,2020 at about 2300hrs arrested one Fatima Sani ‘f’ 36yrs of Gobirawa village, who had a misunderstanding with her mother in-law one Aisha Umaru aged 70yrs ‘f’ of Tozon Daji village,in Mashegu LGA.Niger state. The said Fatima who had been divorced, left Gobirawa village to Tozon Daji, and secretly entered the mother in-law’s room where she stabbed her to death for allegedly instigating her son, Sani Umaru to divorce her. The suspect now in police custody, while the investigation on the case is ongoing.

Meanwhile ,the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Adamu Usman has reassured members of the public that the Police will continue to redouble it’s efforts to stem the tide of criminality in the State and therefore, solicited the support of Nigerlites in giving useful and timely information to the Police.
