The NNPC Foundation, the social investment arm of NNPC Limited, has continued its financial empowerment initiative for young Nigerians with a Financial Literacy Programme for Batch B, Stream 2 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
The programme is scheduled to hold on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Kubwa, Abuja.
The initiative, which commenced in August 2023 in collaboration with the NYSC, is designed to equip corps members with practical knowledge of financial management, investment and entrepreneurship.
Kudimata Nig. Limited serve as the consultant to the NNPC Foundation for the programme, which currently operate across all 37 NYSC Orientation Camps nationwide.
Beyond financial literacy training, the initiative provided corps members with an opportunity to translate their knowledge into viable businesses.
Participants who scored at least 70 per cent in the programme’s online assessment qualified for the Kick-Start My Business stage, before proceeding to the Business Pitching stage.
Successful participants will receive starter packs and grants to enable them to develop their business ideas and commence operations.
The NNPC Foundation also support beneficiaries with business registration through the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), having secured a 45 per cent discount on registration fees for participants.
According to the Foundation, more than 1.3 million corps members have so far benefited from the Financial Literacy Programme, while 531 successful participants received grants and starter packs in May 2025.
The Foundation urged corps members currently undergoing orientation to take advantage of the programme, described it as an opportunity to acquire practical financial skills and potentially secure support for starting their own businesses.
The initiative formed part of the NNPC Foundation’s broader commitment to youth empowerment and building financial and entrepreneurial capacity among young Nigerians.
