Northern Nigerian Writers’ Forum describes ILLEC Nupe language study as an Engine to Nigerian Minority Languages.

“Nupe Language embarked on the war against forignization since last 5 years. today we are the reference point to the endangered languages across the country. (Please read Northern Nigerian Writers Summit ___ NNWS)”

“I’m surprised at this villification of the promotion of any language here, describing it as “too much”. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t think the resources promoting Nupe is coming from the Summit. We all have had the challenge to promote the various languages and we are shirking the responsibility. I believe that we should honestly commend the promoters of Nupe.” Mr. Diago; lives in Abuja, from Benue State. He was the Elcom Chairman of the just concluded NNWS election.
“The promoters of NUPE language deserve exceptional commendation. There’ s no other language at the moment at NNWS hat has reached the status of archievments so far.
2. There’s urgent need to promote other languages along side NUPE and the thrust is for us all. I speak as the Masaihead not a voice for the EXCO.
3. Promotion of indegenous languages is part of my election Manifesto and I have this included in a workshop planned for next year. EXCO is still getting together and are yet to have a formal meeting.” Mr. Omale is the current Vice Chairman of NNWS, base in Abuja.

“Isyaku B. Ibrahim (Nupe writer) and Manarakis are the current super promoters of Nupe language in Nigeria. It is all individual efforts.
NNWS has not done anything spectacular about promoting indigenous languages outside paper presentations at her summits. We are just lucky to have indigenous languages writers in our fold.
Of course, at Hill-Top, it has not been spectacular as well. However, we are bringing back the Minna Creative Writing Class in 2021 where Isyaku B. Ibrahim will start teaching Nupe language. Also, a prize is currently running at HIASFEST for Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Nupe and Gbagyi under Hill-Top.
I have realised that our independent platforms will handle the promotion of indigenous languages more than these national platforms. Akweyatv, Manarakis ILLEC has been the most effective platform in the promotion of indigenous language of recent. He achieved that because it is outside the main frame. The national associations should concentrate on appropriating efforts coming from the fringes into finer products. In fact, that may not even be needed. Hausa doesn’t need anything from NNWS or ‘ANA’ to move on. ILLEC doesn’t. Akweyatv doesn’t. Hill-Top doesn’t. So, let NNWS package hers and pursue the agenda.
When we inaugurate CONTEMPORARY LITERARY ARTS ORGANISATIONS OF NIGERIA, we shall meet there to design a convergence point for indigenous languages of Nigeria.” (Our BM Dzukogi the pioneer Chairman of NNWS and the Founder of Hilltop Arts Centre, Minna).
God, we see, we feel, we conquer, we celebrate now and later. We sincerely appreciate God and all those playing Vital roles in this achievement, especially Etsu Nupe Alh. (Dr) Yahaya Abubakar and Dr. (Mrs) Aishatu Mohammed Ndayeko etc.
