NPC,others bid UNFPA Resident Representative,Ulla Elisabeth Mueller farewell

National Population Commission (NPC) team led by the Chairman of the Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra and other development partners were in attendance to bid outgoing Resident Representative of United Nations Population Fund Agency (UNFPA) in Nigeria, Ms. Ulla Elisabeth Mueller goodbye

 

A farewell party in honour of Ms Mueller held at The Vue Restaurant in Abuja on 4th July, 2023.

Ms. Ulla Mueller who was appointed the UNFPA Nigeria Resident Representative in February 2020 worked closely with the NPC and other organizations in addressing the population and development issues in Nigeria, especially in areas of promoting sexual and reproductive health (including family planning), reproductive rights and choices, reducing maternal and child mortality, empowerment of women and girls, and gender equality.

 

She is a strong voice in pushing for the conduct of the next Population and Housing Census in Nigeria to enable the government and researchers to have accurate and reliable data to plan and accelerate progress towards achieving the SDGs.

 

NPC deeply appreciated Ms. Mueller for her dedication and invaluable contributions and wished her all the best in her next place of assignment.
