NUJ FCT partners TStv on content development

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council and TStv Africa have agreed to partner on content development that will be of mutual benefit.

 

Chairman of NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Emmanuel Ogbeche, gave the assurance when he received a delegation from the satellite broadcasting company.

 

He expressed the union’s readiness to partner with TSTv, stated that the NUJ has a pool of professionals that were capable of developing world class content.

 

He thanked the delegation for identifying with the journalists’ body, informed them that NUJ would like to have its own segment in the area of human rights, news and current affairs as means of reaching a wide range of Nigerians.

 

Ogbeche said that he was fascinated by the fact that TStv was home grown (organic) with most of its contents conforming to local reality. .

 

The Marketing Manager, TStv, Mr. Babalola Babatunde, who led the delegation disclosed that TStv was willing to start content development with the NUJ that will enable TStv to tap from journalists’ experience for the good of the viewing public.

 

He stated that TStv has over 98 channels with 25 being controlled in-house and wished that the anticipated synergy with NUJ would greatly enhance their impact.

 

“My Chairman coming to this office today is like home having been here before. We are here to tell you what TStv is all about. And what Nigerians tend to gain if they patronize it. We believe that NUJ with its wide reach to Nigerians will be in a better position to tell the story of TStv. It is important to know that TStv is not like other pay TVs in Nigeria. We are so flexible and affordable and that is what Nigerians want. We are giving what Nigerians want. Today, you pay for what you want and you pay for what you are watching.”He stated.
