The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has announced that celebrated media personality, Mrs. Moji Danisa, will be honoured with the Trailblazer in Tabloid Journalism Award in recognition of her pioneering contributions to the growth and transformation of tabloid journalism in Nigeria.
This was made known in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Council, Mr. Jide Oyekunle, who described Danisa as a dynamic force in the media landscape, known for her fearless reporting, compelling storytelling, and innovative approach to journalism.
“Rising swiftly through the editorial ranks to become a sub-editor, and later establishing her own media ventures, Moji Danisa has exemplified leadership, creativity, and resilience in an ever-evolving media environment,” the statement noted.
With a career spanning investigative journalism, television presentation, production, scriptwriting, and documentary work, Danisa has consistently demonstrated a commitment to truth, public interest, and media excellence.
“Her bold and impactful reporting style has redefined tabloid journalism, transforming it into a platform not just for entertainment, but for advocacy, truth-telling, and social change,” the Council said.
The NUJ FCT Council also acknowledged Danisa’s entrepreneurial achievements and her influence as a mentor and role model, particularly to women in media.
“This award recognises Moji Danisa not only as a pioneer, but as a symbol of excellence an icon who has set new standards in tabloid journalism through courage, creativity, and consistency.”
The Council further encouraged young journalists, especially women, to draw inspiration from Danisa’s legacy by embracing bold, ethical, and people-focused journalism.
