NYSC DG Decorates Aide, Shuaibu Muhammad, as Lieutenant Colonel

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has decorated his Military Assistant, Shuaibu Muhammad, with his new rank of Lieutenant Colonel at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja.

The decoration ceremony was jointly performed by the NYSC DG and the officer’s wife, Mrs. Hauwa Muhammad, in the presence of top management staff and dignitaries.

Speaking during the event, General Nafiu described the newly promoted officer as diligent and dedicated, noting that he had consistently lived up to expectations in the discharge of his duties.

He congratulated Lt. Col. Muhammad on his elevation, stressing that promotion comes with increased responsibility and urging him to prepare for greater challenges ahead.

According to the NYSC DG, the promotion was not only an act of divine favour but also a recognition of hard work, commitment and professionalism.

Responding, Lt. Col. Muhammad expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, for approving his promotion, describing the elevation as a call to greater loyalty, discipline and dedication to national service.

He also commended General Nafiu for his leadership, mentorship and professional guidance, while thanking the NYSC management and staff for their support.

Earlier, Acting Director of Special Duties Department, George Mfongang, described the decoration as a recognition of years of sacrifice, discipline and meritorious service.

The ceremony underscored the Nigerian Army’s recognition of excellence and commitment among officers serving in strategic national institutions.
