NYSC DG reaffirms support for injured corps member

NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has assured that Corps Member Nuraddeen Tahir who recently lost his arm in a road accident after leaving the Orientation Camp in Taraba State would be given all necessary support to live a normal life.

The DG stated this on Friday when he visited the Corps Member at his residence in Gwarzo, Kano State.

He said arrangement had been concluded to provide prosthetic limbs for Nuradeen to enable him perform his daily activities seamlessly.

General Ibrahim, who was received by a mamoth crowd of residents during his visit, said Corps Members’ welfare remained one of the top priorities of his administration.

He commended the patriotic zeal of Nuraddeen, who despite the loss of his arm, accepted his deployment to Taraba State for the National Service.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman, Gwarzo Consultative Forum, Alhaji Nasiru Namani and another member of the forum, Alhaji Bello Hussein, poured encomiums on the Director-General for his humane and fatherly disposition towards the injured Corps Member whom he had given hope since the accident occurred.

They commended the DG for keeping close tabs on their son the through regular calls and for the financial support given to him.

‘We cannot thank you enough for your show of love to our son.You have played the role of a true father, and it is our prayer that God will guide, protect, favour and bless you and the entire NYSC Scheme’, Alhaji Nasiru said.

Nuraddeen Tahir with State Code KN/19B/4040 has been redeployed to Kano State for proper monitoring after he was discharged from the hospital.

The Corps member, who graduated from North West University in Kano, sustained injury, which led to the amputation of his left arm in 2003.

On completion of the 2019 Batch ‘B’ Orientation course in Taraba State, Nuraddeen and some other Corps members were involved in a road traffic accident while traveling to Sardauna Local Government Area, where they were posted for Primary Assignment.

He sustained serious injuries resulting in the amputation of his only arm.
