Osusu Bridges Diaspora, Nigeria with Flexible Shopping, Price Protection – CEO Andrew Odibi

The Managing Director of Pack and Pay Osusu, Andrew Otike Odibi, has unveiled the company’s innovative platform designed to strengthen economic ties between Nigerians in the diaspora and their families at home while providing flexible payment solutions for residents across the country.

Speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the Nigeria Diaspora Day 2026, held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, from July 24 to 25, Odibi said Osusu offered a technology-driven platform that allowed Nigerians abroad to purchase and deliver essential goods directly to their loved ones in Nigeria without sending cash.
According to him, the platform enabled users anywhere in the world to select products through the Osusu app, choose a delivery address, make payments and have the items delivered seamlessly.
“For those in the diaspora, instead of sending money and asking someone to shop on their behalf, they can simply use our app, select what they want, choose where it should be delivered and we will handle the rest,” he said.

Odibi explained that the platform also serve Nigerians at home by allowing customers to purchase goods through instalment payments while enjoying a unique price-freezing policy.
“When customers make an initial deposit, we freeze the price of the product. Even if market prices increase afterwards, they continue paying the original agreed amount until completion, after which the goods are delivered,” he stated.
He noted that the service is also accessible to people without internet connectivity through an agent platform and dedicated customer care service, ensuring wider financial inclusion.
Addressing concerns about trust and security, Odibi said Osusu has partnered with FSDH Merchant Bank to safeguard customers’ funds.

He explained that payments made by customers are held by the bank and only released to Osusu after successful delivery of the purchased goods. If delivery cannot be completed, customers receive a refund through the bank.
For diaspora customers, he added, payments are processed through Paystack before being transferred to FSDH Merchant Bank, providing an additional layer of financial protection.
“Our strongest selling point is integrity. Everything about Osusu is Nigerian-grown and Nigerian-focused. By bringing in FSDH Merchant Bank, we have demonstrated that customers’ money is secure and that trust remains central to our business model,” he said.
Speaking on the significance of participating in Nigeria Diaspora Day, Odibi said the event provides an important platform to showcase products that connect Nigerians abroad with opportunities back home.
“Our products create a practical linkage between the diaspora and Nigeria. There are many opportunities for collaboration, and Osusu is one of the platforms helping to bridge that gap,” he noted.

On Nigeria’s current economic situation, Odibi acknowledged the declining purchasing power of many households but said Osusu was designed to ease the burden.
“The spending power of the average Nigerian is reducing daily. With Osusu, people don’t have to wait until they have enough money to buy essential items like a bag of rice. They can spread payments over several months without disrupting their family’s welfare. I remain hopeful that the economy will improve,” he said.
He disclosed that the company currently offers products across seven major categories, including groceries, inverters, furniture, electronics, perfumes, hair products and an upcoming healthcare package known as Osusu Health.
According to him, Osusu Health will enable Nigerians in the diaspora to conveniently pay for medications and healthcare needs of their relatives in Nigeria, with medicines delivered directly to beneficiaries.

Explaining the origin of the brand name, Odibi said “Osusu” is rooted in the traditional Nigerian savings culture, commonly known in some communities as Esusu.
“It simply means putting money together little by little. We have taken that traditional concept, added technology to it and transformed it into a secure and convenient solution for modern consumers,” he said.
